Kingsbridge Food Bank

Kingsbridge Food Bank was set up to prevent and relieve poverty in Kingsbridge and surrounding villages. They do this primarily through the provision of food, hygiene and household products, but also through related additional services, assistance and support for those in need.

St Luke’s Hospice

Our chosen charity in 2019 was St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, an independent charity providing specialist advice and support to people with progressive life-limiting illnesses in Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall. They believe that everyone deserves quality end of life care.

With the generous support of our brilliant clients, we raised almost £2,000 in 2019 for St Luke’s Hospice.

On 7th August 2022 I entered and started The London Edinburgh London cycling event aiming to complete this event in 128 hours, and at the same time aiming to raise funds for 2 fantastic charities: St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth plus The Brain Tumour Charity.

Although I was unsuccessful in my challenge and was unable to continue after 590 miles due to saddle sores and neck problems, our generous clients, family, and friends helped us to raise £2080 including gift aid for these charities.

The suffering and memories of this epic event will stay with me forever!

MoneyPlan

MoneyPlan is a pro-bono initiative which partners financial adviser members of the Personal Finance Society with local Citizens Advice centres. As a volunteer, Charlie gives his time to provide free financial guidance to those who wouldn’t ordinarily be able to access professional advice. Those who access advice as a result of MoneyPlan report reduced stress level and improved peace of mind – something we know is a significant benefit reported by most people when they engage in financial planning.
